No bullet can stop him

Donation protected
Forest Park, Georgia police officer Timothy Sterrett was shot in the neck while attempting to apprehend a violent suspect.  Another officer was also shot.

Tragically, the assailant's bullets did tremendous harm.  The bullet that struck Officer Sterrett migrated from the neck to the collar and ultimately lodged in his right shoulder, inflicting life-threatening injuries and causing severe trauma to the soft tissues surrounding his airway and serious nerve damage.  Officer Sterrett died on the operating table at Grady Hospital, but the talented team of doctors and nurses was able to revive him.  After a successful operation to stabilize him, Officer Sterrett was placed in intensive care and then began a long and painful journey to recovery that has involved debilitating neuropathy and partial loss of function in his right hand.  The problems caused by the bullet’s trajectory through his neck and throat continue to cause excruciating pain, and the bullet could not be extricated from his shoulder.

Prior to this incident, Officer Sterrett was known for his responsible, community-centered policing, for his kindness and willingness to help the citizens he swore to protect.  He also received multiple commendations from his superiors and residents of Forest Park because of his fair and proactive attempts to protect and serve beyond the scope of his regular duties.  In spite of his suffering, Officer Sterrett is hopeful that he will soon be able to return to his career as a police officer.Currently, Timothy is unable to work because of his injuries.  Although he sees a physical therapist daily, is being treated by five different specialists and continues to undergo tests to determine the long-term severity of his injuries, he is unable to return to duty and is facing mounting economic difficulties as a result of the assault.  Please give a hand to help this remarkable young man navigate these uncertain and frightening times without worry.  Every donation large and small is most appreciated.
