CALVIN IS A TOW TRUCK OPERATOR FOR OIL COUNTRY TOWING in ALBERTA . HE WAS ASSISTING IN A TOW RECOVERY OPERATION ON HWY 2 THE CALGARY TRAIL . HIS TOW TRUCK WAS THE BLOCKER TRUCK ... "THE SAFETY TRUCK". a Transport truck lost control on the snow and ice covered road while approaching the scene of the recovery he slammed into the back of calvins tow truck then crashed into the second tow truck that was winching A car from the median.
Calvin heard the truck slam on his breaks and he started running for his life. a second transport right behind the first truck pulled into the median to avoid the accident , that truck hit Calvin from behind throwing him 40 ft into the median .
Calvin injuries are
a broken arm in 2 places,
broken ribs ,
a punctured spleen,
and severe cuts to his legs and body!
Calvin is 21 yrs old he is a proud new Father of Colton his little boy,
Calvin was just doing his job ,
just trying to make a living .
Calvin has undergone 5 hrs in the OR to re build his arm he will be in recovery for several days..
THIS WAS A PREVENTABLE ACCIDENT the drivers of both trucks were passing the scene at highway speeds neither slowed down or moved over to give them room to safely do the job they are trained to do. Calvin is looking at 8 to 12 months of healing and therapy before he can consider returning to his job . i started this go fund me campaign to help Calvin and his family out with the expenses someone has to put food on the table .
