<div>From Joey Malek:

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>“Hey everyone,

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>This is a tough post to write, but sometimes life throws challenges at you that you just can’t get through alone. Back in January, what was supposed to be a routine dentist visit turned into something life changing, I was diagnosed with Ameloblastoma, a rare and aggressive tumor in my jaw. It was completely unexpected, and now I’m facing a major surgery to remove and reconstruct my jaw.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>On top of that, I’ll be losing 12 teeth in the process. Once I’ve healed, I’ll need dental implants to replace them, but that comes with an overwhelming financial burden. The average cost of a single dental implant is around $2,500, which means I’m looking at a total of $30,000 just to restore my smile.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I’ve never been someone who’s comfortable asking for help, but this is one of those moments where I have to put my pride aside and lean on the people around me. Megan and I are doing everything we can to prepare for what’s ahead, but we simply can’t do this alone.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Any donation, big or small, will go directly toward helping me get the implants I need so I can eat, speak, and most importantly, smile again. If you’re not in a position to give, I completely understand, just sharing this would mean the world to me.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I can’t begin to express how grateful I am for Megan, our families, friends, and coworkers who have already shown so much love and support. It’s humbling, and it reminds me that even in the hardest moments, I’m not alone.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Thank you for taking the time to read this, for caring, and for being part of my journey. I’ll keep everyone updated along the way.

</div>

<div>With love and gratitude,

</div>

<div>Joey”

</div>

</div>

<div>From friend Rich Rush:

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>“Joey Malek is one of the nicest and most genuine people I’ve ever met. Joey has always been the person to lend a hand, share a smile, and go out of his way to help others. This was never more apparent than his efforts to support others during the recent tragic flooding in Asheville, North Carolina.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Now it’s our turn to return the favor and offer our generous support to Joey, as he undergoes an incredibly challenging, and expensive medical treatment in the coming months.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Having recently struggled with my own health issues, I can attest to the healing value of the outpouring of love and support I received from coworkers and friends. So, let’s come together and show Joey how much he means to us by supporting this fundraising effort as generously as you are able.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>All contributions will go towards offsetting the tremendous personal financial burden Joey will face post-surgery.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Thank you in advance for supporting our dear friend and co-worker!”

</div>
