Arthur's Medical Expenses

Hi, my name is Catherine I'm creating this fundraising for my cousin Arthur Cameron Aranza who just had an operation for Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm. He is 45 years old.

Last December 27, 2022 while he was using a stationary bike, he had sudden onset of tearing chest pain (pain scale of 10/10) radiating to epigastric area and upper back accompanied by dyspnea and pleuritic chest pain. He was initially brought to Makati Medical Center Philippines where a CT Aortogram was done and showed Standford Debakey II thoracic-aortic aneurysm with dissection. Due to financial constraints, they decided to be transferred to Philippine Heart Center under Dr. Aventura but eventually decided to be under Charity.

Arthur was admitted in the Emergency Room of Philippine Heart Center last December 28, 2022 and was on Nicardipine Drip. Last January 2, 2023, he was finally scheduled for an operation and underwent Aortic valve resuspension, Ascending aorta and aortic arch replacement which lasted for more than 15 hours. With lots of prayers and good doctors and nurses on board, the operation was successful. He was transferred to the ward after being stable in the ICU post-operatively for a few days. While at the ward he developed right lower extremity pain. Work-up was done which revealed Femoro-popliteal hemodynamically significant stenosis. He was then started on Heparin and Nicardipine drip. A plan for femoro-popliteal bypass and Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) this month of February.

Their family are blessed with 3 daughters. The eldest is 13 years old, 4 years old and 2 years old. Arthur is the breadwinner of the family, he was working as on-call transfortify driver before this happened and his wife works as a nurse in Makati Medical Center. The family is struggling to support his medical expenses. Their income deemed insufficient to shoulder the lifetime medication, laboratories and upcoming procedures for Arthur. They are already indebted from their relatives from the expenses in the hospitalization and at home as well as no enough resources to repay them. They tried to ask help from the government but not enough to sustain the long-term need of treatment.

Today, we are thankful to our creator and to the people who have helped Arthur live longer with his family. We are very thankful that through this platform we are able to share his situation to raise fund for his medical expenses.
