Who knew? I was told it was Bells Palsey, it would go away. It didn’t. 2 years later, symptoms were still there, more often, and more prominent. I brought it to my doctors attention..I asked if it could be something else. She said that an MRI would be best to determine if possibly , something was pushing on a nerve. An MRI was ordered.
The day came to get it done. When I was leaving..I asked how long it would be until my family dr got the results. The reply was....Tuesday or later,
I left the office to go grocery shopping, an hour later...I got a call. I was told that I needed to see my family doctor for the results. I replied that they must be mistaken because my results were due the following week. I was told that not only did the MRI technician call my doctor ..she also emailed results .
C What I was told that I must see the doctor within the hour. I called my husband to share this with him. To back this story up..he wanted to be there for the MRI.. I told him.. the appointment will be at lease an hour.. and the results will not be readily available. No need..Thankfully, he made it to the doctor’s office just as the dr pulled out the little foot rest on the patients table to sit down. I knew it was not the best of news.
It was then that I was told that I have a brain tumor. Surgery is the only option . It has grown to a 3x3x3.8cm in size. It is benign...but it needs to be done very soon. Hmmm..apparently it has effected my right side.. leg, arm, face, gums, tongue,etc... which I was experiencing. Surgery is the only option.
I am scheduled for brain surgery on October 12th... I will be in surgery for 6-8 hours. I will be in ICU for the first 24 hours following surgery. ..then to a room for up to 6 days.. followed by 8 1/2 weeks of physical therapy and recovery..
I am happy that it was diagnosed. Scared???yes, no. I strongly believe that I will be fine and plan to fight!! I am going to get better and be a stronger person.
But, it will be spendy. If you can help, please do. Help can be a prayer, positive thoughts...or helping financially. Thank you so much!!
