Mariah's Medical Fund

“Out of Options”

My name is Kevin and I am humbly seeking help from outside sources to help us with a difficult situation. My wife Mariah is a veterinarian who has been fighting cancer for the past four years. During this time she has continued to serve her community, customers and animals who required medical attention. About a year ago she was considered to be cancer free, but then things took an ugly turn. Once again the cancer came back and she is not able to work and provide veterinarian service for our business and our community. At this point we have no other options to help cure her cancer, chemo and radiation have not been effective and are no longer able to help. As her husband and a man of God I am doing my best to take care of the business, home responsibilities, but most importantly I am caring and loving my wife the best way a husband can in this situation. We own and operate the local veterinarian clinic, but with her illness we have been unable to continue working and that has affected our source of income.  We have exhausted all our resources to take care of treatments and other medical expenses to include maxing out our credit cards, going through our savings and asking our loved ones for help.  We have run out of options to pay for these expenses. At this time we pray and ask for help from family, friends, our community, our brothers and sisters in Christ, and anyone who is led to help our situation.

More about Mariah:

Mariah is an amazing women with a love for animals. Mariah has always had passion for animals since she was a young girl and she has been dedicated to the clinic and all her patients her whole life including the past 4 years when she started her battle with cancer. She is a Kansas State University Alumni, who graduated in 2000 with a degrees in Veterinary Medicine (VM) degree.  She is a huge KSU Wildcat football fan and bleeds K-state purple, she has attended many games in Manhattan, Kansas. Mariah is a wonderful and loving person not only is she an amazing woman but is a great Step-mom and Grandma. Mariah recently gave her life to Christ and was baptized to show her faith and commitment to Him.

More about Our Situation:

As we work through Mariah’s medical situation, we have encountered a large amount of debt trying to take care of the medical expenses, treatments and everyday expenses.  I am limited on working since I am home caring for her during this time.  We have exhausted all our resources, to help with our situation we are in the process of trying to sell the Veterinary Clinic with many potential buyers but none that have committed at this time.  Selling of the clinic would be a major relief and would help our situation out tremendously but as of now we are struggling with this.

During this time we have had many people help us and are very humbled and grateful to everyone for their unselfishness and generosity, especially our family and friends.  With the help of veterinary physicians in the area and our vet assistants helping to run clinic operations on occasion to help keep the doors open to provide service to the community animal. Our church providing meals, many prayers, and just helping when asked.   We are very thankful for the generosity we have received so far and humbly asking for more support with our situation.

Thank you and God Bless
