The H.E.R.Story Mentoring Program was founded 6 years ago to provide positive role models for young women of color. To date over 100 young women ages 14-18 have participated in this program.
In DC, we have 30 mentees that are determined to go to college. For most of them, they will be the first person in their family to do so.
We are partnering with the Prince Georges Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated to take the young women on a tour of 14 HBCU's! This is an opportunity of a lifetime. The cost is $450 and this is out of reach for the families of these young women.
We plan to raise $4500 to fully fund the trip for 10 deserving young women.
