Bella Needs Our Help!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jane Slavin and I’m fundraising for my dear friend Sandy Richard and her lab, Bella. Bella is a former breeder who was rescued by Lab Rescue (LRCP) in MD and VA and adopted by Sandy and her husband Bob. In early May, Bella had to have emergency intestinal surgery because she had a blockage due to eating a washcloth; she almost didn’t make it. Sandy and Bob, who are retired, dug into their savings to save their beloved dog. Two months later, Bella appears to have another blockage in her small intestine (cause undetermined as yet) and more surgery in the same spot may be required. She isn’t even six years old yet, Sandy and Bob are devastated, and coming up with the additional money for more surgery is an impossibility. They desperately need our help! Sandy has been a Lab Rescue volunteer for many years and she and Bob have provided a loving, secure home for Bella. Please let’s do whatever we can to see that this sweet, loving dog gets the chance to live that she needs. Funds will go directly to Sandy and Bob to pay the veterinary surgeon and other doctors who will be involved. This is an emergency situation, so please don’t hesitate! Whatever you can afford to contribute will be so greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your generosity. UPDATE: Surgery will be required tonight or tomorrow. Sandy also wanted me to include that Bella was adopted in August 2019 after she and Bob had lost their beloved Molly. They had adopted Molly from Lab Rescue in 2009. Also, I am attempting to raise the amount they’ve been told they’ll be charged for this procedure. Thank you again.
