Julie Walker Benefit

Meet Julie. Julie is a 43 year old single mom who works at GAF in Mount Vernon, Indiana. She has a 9 year old little boy Mark, who is the light of her life! Julie has just been diagnosed with Ocular Melanoma. Ocular Melanoma is a primary cancer of the eye in adults. It is diagnosed in only about 2,500 adults every year and occurs most often in lightly pigmented individuals with blue eyes. It is a malignant tumor that can grow and spread to other parts of the body which can be fatal. This occurs in about half of all cases. Julie must receive immediate treatment for this tumor at a hospital in Philadelphia that specializes in cancers of the eye. Her treatment will include surgery with radiation and will require her to travel back to Philadelphia every 4 months for the first year. If this treatment is not effective she will need more radical surgery at a later date. We are asking for financial support to help pay for the cost of medical bills, flights, ongoing treatments and any other expenses related to this cancer. Please pray for our family and for Julie.
