Help Mukasa Get a Casa!!

For those of you who do not know us, we are a group of students from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a common interest in Global Health. Last year we had the incredible opportunity to travel to Uganda to learn about their health care system and carry out individualized research projects on a scope of topics, ranging from nutrition to agriculture. During our stay in Uganda we had the privilege of meeting and learning from a diverse array of individuals, and one man who left a lasting impression on our hearts was Mukasa.
Mukasa is the keeper of the house that we spent the majority of our time in. Since people come and go from this house often only a few times a year, he is responsible for maintaining the home the majority of the time. Mukasa lives more than an hour away from the house we stayed at in Lweza in a town called Katosi. As you can only imagine, infrastructure and transportation in Uganda means that travel time is doubled, at least.
So one day, we went to visit his home. What we found was an untamed forest with no house in sight. Currently, his family is staying in a home near his land that belongs to a relative. The family is unable to make any improvements to the house for fear that this relative might come back, wanting the house back, and leaving them without a home of their own. The majority of the family's income comes from selling coffee, and building a house is out of their financial reach. Mukasa has a wife and 7 young children.
After visiting his home, or lack thereof, we returned to Madison determined to raise money to help build him a house. The house costs $6,000, and so far we have raised $3,000. Please help us reach our goal! No contribution is insignificant, and donations in the amount of $1, $5, $10, $20, etc. would mean the world to Mukasa and his family.
