Hello Internet Friends and Family!
My goal for this fundraising campaign is to raise enough money to help me attend school in New Mexico at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design. Why New Mexico of all places you might ask? New Mexico is becoming a major hub for TV shows and Movies that are being filmed. Garson studios is housed in a 30,000 square foot facility on the campus of the Santa Fe University of Art and Design in Santa Fe, NM produces and shoots live television programs such as Longmire and Breaking Bad as well as feature films such as Cowboys and Aliens, Iron Man 2 and Paul just to name a few.
Movies have always been a major factor in my life and in many ways have taught me about people, the world I live in and myself as a person. The challenge of creating something original that has never been seen before and transporting people to worlds that don't exist in waking life is an amazing thing.
Santa Fe University of Art and Design has a multitude of networking opportunities that I wouldn't be able to find anywhere else. The school will provide me with real world experience and I will have contact with individuals who already work in the industry because they are on campus almost every day filming on the soundstage which allows a more personal experience and it will give me a chance to make a strong impression to those in the industry already.
When you finish high school you are thrown into the real world and expected to know what you want to do with the rest of your life. I attended community college in Delaware and took time to think about what I wanted and how I wanted to get there. It’s weird to think that the choices we make in our lives seem unsure when we decide to make them but are the choices that make us who we are. Deciding to apply to a school in New Mexico seemed odd when I did it but now I realize that this was the plan all along.
Featured above is the submission video that I sent to the college in early January and got me my acceptance into the school in late February. Since then I have been producing more works to perfect my craft before heading out to the school in late August.
Friends and family any donation big or small will be a huge help to my dream. Also, for every donation received, you the donor will get a special gift a graphic photograph designed and signed by me. A little token of thanks for all your help and support in helping me achieve my dream of being a filmmaker.
