Stories for Success is a project started by five Saratoga Springs High School students wanting to help our community by spreading the love of reading to every new family in Saratoga.
Reading and being read to are central to young children’s social, academic, and emotional development. Some of our earliest and most cherished memories from childhood are centered around our favorite books, and beyond that those stories have helped us become stronger students and better humans. By reading to babies, parents can play a critical role in helping create the young readers that will become the leaders of our tomorrow. Our goal in creating Stories for Success is to offer resources to parents to help put their children on a successful path towards whatever future they dream of.
To do this, we are partnering with Saratoga Hospital to provide every baby born there with a “book basket,” which will include one gently used or new book, library card information, and other reading-related goodies. We believe that with support of generous individuals like you we can accomplish this mission and help have a positive impact on our community.
