Chase Gartner's Funeral Expenses
Donation protected
This fund has been started in honor of Chase Gartner to help his family cover his funeral expenses. In late December 2014, Chase spiked a sudden high fever. After a lengthy stay in Children's Hospital of Philadelphia he was diagnosed with a rare disease called Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis or HLH. HLH involves an over-production and activation of normal infection-fighting cells called histiocytes and T-cells. It is a very aggressive disease with a poor survival rate in patients who are not diagnosed and properly treated with the first 2 months of occurance. Chase was treated with chemo and was well on his way to remission when he took a drastic change for the worse. Chases organs were quickly failing and although he put up the fight of his life, he lost his battle with HLH on Friday, February 27th at 2:15 am at just 17 years old. His family and friends are devasted and shocked by his loss. Chase's Father passed away when he was just a toddler, leaving his Mother to raise 4 children on her own. Any donations raised will go to Chase's Mother, 2 sisters and brother, to pay for his funeral expenses. Any money raised above the funeral costs will be donated to Histiocytosis research and awareness in honor of Chase Gartner. Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated and will help tremendously. Our family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts for your support during this most difficult time.
