Hi, we’re Megan and Ryan.

We began our marriage during a moment of pure joy — married on a baseball field in Sugar Land, Texas at a Savannah Bananas game surrounded by laughter, love, and a sense that life was just beginning. We never imagined how quickly everything would change.

Not long after, Ryan was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis which was further complicated by heart failure and an acute kidney injury. What followed were hospital stays, overwhelming medical information, and the realization that our life would now be measured in labs, procedures, and waiting. We are currently facing an uncertain road that may include a liver transplant.

Ryan is fighting every day. His strength amazes me, but the reality is that this illness has taken away our ability to live normally. Our days are spent in hospital hallways, recovery rooms, and moments of quiet vigilance — watching, advocating, and hoping.

I have become Ryan’s full-time caregiver. I help him with daily tasks, manage medications, attend appointments, and speak on his behalf when he cannot. This role is taken on with love, but it has also made it impossible for me to work consistently, while Ryan is unable to work at all.

We are asking for help because the financial weight of this fight is more than we can carry alone.
