Mr White's Retirement Gift

Alumni, Family, and Friends,
During the 2014-2015 school year WM has been celebrating the career of Mr. Donald White. He has dedicated his career and his personal life to sharing with us the deep love he has for music. Great teachers freely and passionately share their knowledge and wisdom; WM music students and alumni agree that Mr. White is a great music teacher.
It was wonderful to see so many people participate in the Homecoming alumni band. It meant a great deal to the White family, especially by Mr. White and his wife, Diana.
Knowing that he will be retiring at the end of this school year, people are asking if there will be a retirement gift from WM alumni, students, friends, family, etc., and could they show their appreciation to Mr. White with a donation. The answer is Yes!
The 2015 WM senior class--along with Mr. Jerasa, Mr. White's brother, Rick, son Andy with his wife Kate, and daughter, Ashley, --have discussed a few ideas for a gift to be presented to Mr. White at the final concert.
This year's WM band members originally wanted to take up a collection and purchase a gift of their own, but acquiring the amount needed for their gift idea may be too difficult for them to collect on their own.
Their gift choice for him is an item they are positive will be one he will always cherish. They know it will mean so much to him that all of his “children” contributed to it. But how can they raise their goal of$3000?
This is where we come in! If each alumni member who participated in the alumni game will donate $10, the amount needed would be acquired quickly. But any donation amount will be greatly appreciated.
We ask two things from all who choose to donate: 1) that we attempt to keep this GoFundMe retirement gift campaign a secret from Mr. White, so that means aside from the alumni Facebook group (which Diana has been temporarily removed from) please do not share it so that Mrs. White can see. So stick to private messages, word of mouth and email to pass the link on. and 2) for those donating...please trust that our committee will select the "perfect" item for him, even though we are not divulging here what the gift is.
We all are aware that very few things slip by the man who seems to know "everything that happens in this town!"
If this GoFundMe goal amount of $3,000 or more is reached, not only will this be enough for the perfect gift for Mr. White, but we can also purchase a wonderful appreciation gift for Mrs. White as well. Diana has worked with him in the WM music department for many, many years.
Please do not think of this campaign as just another request for your money, but rather think of it as your opportunity to thank the man who has helped provide the love and joy you derive from music, and for the many wonderful memories of music at WM.
Donations must be submitted on or before March 31st. The Spring Concert will be held on April 30th and we would love to see all of his supporters attend at his final concert as director of WM music department.
