People to People Student Ambassador to Australia

Hi my name is Lachette Holden, and I have created this page for my daughter, Niyah a high school sophomore, who has been selected by People to People to be a Student Ambassador to travel to Australia and New Zealand in the Summer of 2013 for 12 days. This program was the vision of President Dwight D. Eisenhower to give everyday people of different countries and cultures the opportunity to meet and get to know each other in order to create understanding and friendships across the world.

Niyah's goal is $7,000, which will cover her travel expenses (room, board, air, etc.), and we are asking for donations to help us reach that goal. We have until April 30, 2013 to raise enough money for the trip. Along with your donations we will also be doing other fundraisers over the next few months.

The Student Ambassadors will travel to Sydney and New Zealand during their trip, and they will visit iconic landmarks and locations, learn different customs, as well as perform some community service. The students may also get the opportunity to spend an evening or two in the home of a local family in order to experience the daily life of that family.

Any donation will be greatly appreciated no matter how large or small because every little bit helps.

It is an honor for Niyah to have been selected for this experience, and we both would be extremely excited and thankful if she would be able to participate in this journey of a lifetime.
