The goal of this Go Fund Me account is to give Nina's many MANY friends a practical channel that we can use to help her and her family. The money might go towards simple things like parking expenses, or things like monetary donations to Gillette Children's and Ronald McDonald House charities, who are taking such incredible care of our girl and her heart-broken family. Let's try to help a little, and spread some Fluffy Rainbow Ninacorn sunshine and light into the world.
Background: At approximately 3 pm on November 4th Nina and her cousin Asher were coming home from the park. Upon crossing Duckwood drive Nina was struck by an oncoming car. She was thrown a few feet and landed in the middle of the road. Nina was quickly transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul where she was stabilized. At that time they moved her to Gillette Children's Hospital where they specialize in traumatic brain injuries and broken bones. Nina has some bleeding in her brain, a fractured clavicle and pelvis. The doctors and nurses have been working to keep her temperature down to decrease the chances of brain swelling. At midnight the doctors decided they needed to better be able to monitor her brain and decided to insert a catheter into one of her ventricles in the brain so they would have constant ability to monitor any changes and act quickly if needed. We will do our best to keep you updated as we know Nina is very loved as well as Mitchell, Jess and Shawn. Please send out your prayers, well wishes and any healing vibes you can muster.
