Support Carolyn, Matthew & Nina

Nina Simone was a very active, happy laughing 24 month old sweetheart. Last week, just two weeks after her second birthday, Carolyn and Matthew noticed she wasn't interested in walking and then stopped walking all together. After speaking with their doctor, they went to the hospital for testing, x-rays and blood work, but they didn't reveal the reason for her change. They were then advised to have a biopsy and MRI on her spine and their worst fears were confirmed..Leukemia.

Yesterday was Nina's first surgery into her spine where the portal was created for her to receive chemotherapy. The prognosis is good, and she is strong, but there are more treatments and recovery ahead--all quite a bit to handle for such a little soul.
