Nina D'Apolito Care Fund

The D'Apolito family is an incredibly active, and very dynamic family within our Jersey Shore community. They are the first to volunteer to help a friend (or a stranger) in need, under any circumstance - and they are friends to everyone they come into contact with. This family now needs our help.
As those who know the D'Apolito's are already aware, they have a grown son (RJ) and twin 12 year old daughers.... Chiara (also known as "Kiki") and Nina.
Nina and Kiki are best friends, who attend Wall Intermediate School. The girls are active in almost every sport or activity - and both are Straight A, high honor roll students. Both are loved by everyone who meet them.
A couple of months ago, Terri and Anthony (parents) noticed their daughter, Nina began having (what they thought were) panic attacks. As a licensed health professional, Terri paid close attention to these attacks, and realized they were happening more and more frequently.... One to two times each day... Terri made an appointment with Nina's Pediatrician, who ordered blood work. The blood work came back completely normal. Still concerned, Terri and Anthony continued to monitor - and the attacks continued to progress. They brought Nina to the emergency room at Jersey Shore, where an outpatient EEG was ordered following their initial visit. Upon bringing Nina home from the initial ER visit, the attacks incresed to 5-6 per day. Terri and Anthony brought Nina back to the ER a second time, and she was admitted.
Initially, the diagnosis stated that Nina was experiencing focal seizures (which was Terri's concern). Following additional tests, it was determined that NIna, in fact, has a brain tumor and will require surgery.
Currently, the family is at Jersey Shore Medical (inpatient). They are consulting with CHOP, and will (most likely) transport for surgery and care.
The future is a bit unknown at this time....
Unfortunately, Terri's employment ended in January. As Anthony is self-employed, Terri maintains insurance coverage for the family. The D'Apolitos are paying out of pocket COBRA coverage (extremely expensive - - - - like an additional monthly mortgage payment) to maintain their insurance.
As any parent would realize, the family's first (and only) priority must be caring for their family, and making sound, well-informed medical and care decisions for Nina. The family is extremely concerned about their financial well being, and how they will make it through this very serious situation independently. This is why we are requesting the assistance of anyone willing to donate.
No amount is too small.... Give what you can. I know - that if any of you were experiencing this situation - and needed assistance, the D'Apolito's would be the first people to step up and help. Let's get Nina back on the field....
