Nikki’s Brain Tumor Recovery Fund

Family and friends! As you all know, Nikki Headley was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma, back in April. She went through two surgeries to remove the cancer and the lymph nodes under her right arm. At that point, we thought things were going well but unfortunately, at the end of August, they found That it had spread to her brain. Her cancer is now consider Metatasic  Melanoma.  Luckily, she has been approved for Medicaid and will have surgery to remove the brain tumor, which is scheduled for Thursday, October 4th.  Her surgeon is Dr. Klimo with  Semmes-Murphey. 

This week, Nikki has been experiencing extremely painful headaches and was rushed to the ER last night where they determined that she has a brain bleed and a lot of swelling around the tumor. She is currently in ICU at Methodist Central and is under sedation to keep her from being in pain until her surgery tomorrow morning. 

Matthew, of course, has been her rock through all of this and will be missing many days of work to be by her side. As a single income family, with two young boys to support, you can imagine what a financial toll this is taking on them both! 
I have started this Gofundme account for those of you who have asked where they can donate to help keep Nikki and Matthew on their feet during this difficult time. While I know we would all like to help as much as possible, if a financial donation is not plausible for you at this time, they can also use continued prayers as well as meals when Nikki is able to come home, some one to sit with her at times or even to take the boys to and from school.

We are so very grateful to all of you for coming together and providing Nikki with an amazing support group! She is a strong woman and she has every intention of fighting this battle for her boys!  I will post an update here tomorrow after surgery!
