As many of you know I have wanted to start a family for many many years now...actually, since I was 8 LOL. I have been saving as much as I could, applying for grants, and carefully planning, in hopes that I could bring a baby home by the end of the year. I even sold my house, so that I could amass the funds it takes to adopt.
But, suddenly, today, I received a call from my adoption agency...
They have a baby girl, who needs a home right away. She is brand new and overcoming having been born early and she needs a mom.
Can I get there to pick her up? Can I stay with her in the hospital until she is released? Am I interested in jumping into a tiny brand new baby as soon as this weekend?
YEs! YES! and YES!
Do I have the cash to pay for placement? Kind of?
I am short $7,250. Yeah, I know that is a lot to be short, but the entire process costs THREE TIMES AS MUCH AS THAT, and I figured slow and steady wins the race. But, I no longer have the luxury of time. My baby is waiting for me, as we speak, and a little over 7 grand is what is keeping us apart right now. Every minute I debate how and where to get the cash is another minute that she has no family.
I am the only African American mom they have on their entire list of waiting families, who is willing to take this angel and birth mom wants her to be raised in an African American family.
Normally pride would keep me from asking for this kind of help, but this is no time to be prideful. This baby needs a home and I need this baby.
Anything that you could contribute would help me...if it is 1 dollar, the sentiment alone will lift my spirits and help keep me going.
All that said, I humbly ask you to donate whatever you can, so that I can bring my baby home.
