NIEVES FAMILY EMERGENCY - FLOODED!!

Many of you may have seen FaceBook posts from John and La-Shawn Nieves. Due to severe flooding from heavy rain in the area; the home the Nieves family rents and lives in suffered major flood damage. Along with flooding, the home's heating oil tank exploded and caused a release of heating oil. Floodwater in the basement rose to the ceiling, completely destroying all contents there.
They have sustained significant damage and loss of most items in the home as many items have been submerged and/or contaminated by the oily sewage water.
This family has lost approximately 75% of their belongings and need our help to get back on their feet.
Many of you have asked how you can help in addition to praying for them. Below is a short list of items that have been damaged.
1) Car: John's car was completely submerged and is a total loss. They are working with the car and insurance companies, as the car was practically new.
2) Furniture Lost:
-Dining Table & Chairs
-Sofa & Chairs
-Dressers for clothing
-Desk
-Bed frames
3) Recording Studio: John's recording studio which he has invested in for over 20 years and which has been a source of income is completely submerged in the basement.
The value of the items in the studio alone is over $100,000. Those of you who know John know that he has worked hard to build this over the years. Unfortunately, none of this equipment is salvageable.
4) Clothing: All members of the family have lost their winter wardrobes and personal items, as they were stored in the basement.
5) College furnishings: Jonathan’s (their son) entire wardrobe and all dorm room appliances/supplies were in the basement prepared to return to school 9/5/2018; all items are a complete loss.
Everything lost cannot be itemized here, but the need is enormous as you can imagine. However, we serve a great God and they are blessed with great friends and family.
For my friends, the pressure is on and the clock is ticking!! THEY NEED OUR HELP!!
Miraculously, they have located an apartment they can move into in the next few days, so your help in securing needed things is humbly and graciously appreciated.
The Nieves family is also looking into all the appropriate channels such as the Red Cross and the city of Brick for any support they can offer.
