Baby Isabella was born 9 weeks early and delivered via an emergency c-section on 2/22/21 at 12:51pm weighting 4lbs, 6 oz. 16 inches. Laura and Sean we’re against me doing this but I wanted to help them out from afar since we can’t be in Omaha right now. I know they haven’t been able to even think of what the incoming medical bills are going to be for such a lengthy stay in the ICU.  She  had a cath procedure last week to better open her PDA heart valve and circulate oxygen through her body/lungs.  Her readings have been good and she was stable, yet has now taken another turn.  The updates are changing by the hour and it's heartbreaking. Every moment matters so much right now and is part of her journey.  Laura and Sean are going through an emotional rollercoaster and it is heartbreaking seeing their little family go through this.  Isabella has fluid around her heart. The cardiac team is still trying to figure out a game plan as to tackle her bigger heart valve issue. We need baby Izzy to continue to grow in order to have a life saving heart surgery. The Children's Hospital medical team in Omaha has held a conference to discuss difficult cases like Izzy's. There is a consensus that Izzy needs to be pushed to food, but the removal of the breathing tube is still not on the table. There is also talk of a transplant, something no one is ready to compartmentalize yet.  Every time Izzy is un-swaddled or held, her hands and legs are shooting into the air showing that she loves being "free." She is fighting and wants us to know she is not giving up. She is very much reactive to being held by Laura and Sean and responds to knowing that they are there.  We so appreciate the prayers, donations, and support during this scary time for our family! At this time, we don't know what tomorrow- or even the rest of the day will bring. We are taking small wins at this point as this little girl is a fighter! Keep fighting little Isabella!
