In May of 2014 I graduated from UNC Wilmington with a degree in Recreation Therapy. Shortly after graduation I moved to Italy for a year to be an Au Pair for the sweetest family. My time abroad sparked a huge desire for travel and an undeniable passion to see the world and love others along the way.
At the end of last year the Lord placed it on my heart to go again, but this time with a much greater purpose. Therefore, I am thrilled to share with you this next adventure God has called me to. Through an organization called Youth With a Mission (YWAM)- a global movement of Christians dedicated to knowing God and making God known, I will be participating in a six month discipleship training school (DTS.) YWAM is involved in every kind of outreach and ministry you can imagine, with over 200 bases all around the world.
After a lot of thought and prayer, I have applied to the Around the World (ATW) DTS in Sunshine Coast, Australia. This DTS will provide me with the opportunity to discover my passions and my part in God’s purposes for the world. DTS is split up into two different parts: lecture and outreach. The lecture phase will consist of an intensive training process designed to equip me for my unique calling as well as develop a deeper intimacy with God. During the outreach phase I will take everything I learned during lecture and apply it on mission trips to multiple nations where I will provide help to those who are desperately in need and share the Gospel to unreached people around the world, (last year ATW DTS students went to India, Cambodia, Morocco, Spain, and Peru.)
I would not be where I am today if it weren’t for wonderful people like you supporting me. First and foremost, I ask for your prayers. I, without a doubt, cannot do this alone. Your prayers will be a huge blessing as I embark on this experience that at times will be physically, emotionally and most of all spiritually stretching. In addition, I boldly ask if you would prayerfully consider partnering with me financially. The DTS will cost approximately $14,000. This covers all my tuition, travel, food, and lodging expenses over the next 6 months. Not only this, but most importantly your support will enable me to live out the Lord’s calling on my life to ultimately change lives and further His Kingdom. This next season will require courage, humility, discipline and most of all Faith. I believe with my whole heart that the Lord is preparing me for something far greater than I could ever ask or imagine. I am trusting in his perfect will and provision, knowing very well He will provide for every step of this journey and reveal to me his never-ending faithfulness along the way.
