Nicole's Marathon Fundraiser

Hi there, my name is Nicole DeLarm. I'm a part of the Equine Dream Team for the Chicago Marathon. 

I'm just as surprised as you are that I signed up for something without a soccer ball. I think its safe to say that in signing up for 26.2 miles, I have a good reason.

You see, I volunteer at Equine Dreams, and every day I'm there, I get to be a part of something so powerful. 

I'm running for the kids who are learning to walk. I run for the kids that are learning to talk.  I run for the adults who have few opportunites for acceptance in the community. I run for the veterans finding peace in learning to ride horses. 

Equine Dreams does nothing short of change lives.

Every cent goes to toward providing free services for people with speical needs. It's a place of acceptance, faith, and growth in using the horse to provide a platform for learning, nurturing abilities, and so much fun.

Equine Dreams' Mission:

Our faith enables us to nurture abilities in individuals with special needs. Equine Dreams is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization that provides Therapeutic Equine Assisted Activities and is dedicated to improving independence and quality of life for children and adults with special needs. Originally founded in 1996 by a special needs parent, Equine Dreams evolved from a pilot program to becoming a Premier Accredited Center by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH, Intl,). Equine Dreams is unique because we deliver services free of charge to the individuals we serve. Our vision is for all children and adults living with special needs to have a place to experience life-long learning in order to foster independence, regardless of ability and income.
