Nicole's Medical Journey

I am Nicole's mother in-law. She is married to my son Dion.In 2004 they had a baby boy who was born at 24 weeks. He did not survive. They named him Tyson. In 2006 they were blessed with another baby boy also born at 24 weeks. He was under 2 lbs.They named him Nickolas. He spend many months in the hospital and today he is 11 years old and is a very healthy,happy little boy. Shortly after his birth Nicole was diagnosed with Huntington's Diease.
Huntington disease (HD) is an inherited brain disorder. HD causes cells in parts of the brain to die: specifically the caudate, the putamen and, as the disease progresses, the cerebral cortex. As the brain cells die, a person with Huntington’s becomes less able to control movements, recall events, make decisions and control emotions.
The symptoms are very dramatic and an emotional turmoil. 
Cognitive loss (inability to focus, plan, recall or make decisions; impaired insight)
Physical deterioration (weight loss, involuntary movements, diminished coordination, difficulty walking, talking, swallowing.
All money collected will be used to make sure that Nicole has the best medically and professional care possible.
All updates on Nicole and her family will be provided on a regular basic.
