Nicole's 10 Year Diabetes Anniversary

This August is the 10 year anniversary of my Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis. These past ten years have tested me both mentally and physically more than I could ever have imagined. Some days are easy, some are harder. But no matter how I am feeling I wake up each day with a smile on my face ready to fight this disease and be a role model for anyone who is battling their own type of struggle.

To celebrate, I am running the San Francisco Half Marathon and raising money for the Northern California chapter of the JDRF. The JDRF is the leading global organization funding Type 1 Diabetes research. The Northern California chapter puts on amazing events and fundraisers that I volunteer at throughout the year. Most recently, I participated in the Tee To Table Gala and Auction which raised over $1.3M for T1D research.

My goal is to raise $1,000 which will then be matched by Yahoo (my employer) doubling the impact of any amount that you can contribute.
