In Loving Memory of Nicole Moore

Nicole Marie Moore was a loving sister and friend to so many people. She was loved by many. My name is Tessa and I was one of Nicole's best friends. She truly changed my life. We worked together at a small hospital in Monticello, MN.  I started this campaign to help out her husband (Matt) with all the medical bills and start a college fund for her daughter (Olive Marie 1yrs). Below is a little bit about Nicole's Journey.

It wasn't your typical fairy tale love story to begin with. It all started at a very romantic place...McDonald's. Nicole was 17, Matt 18. They were both wonderful employees of this greasy wonderland. The first moments of their relationship began when Nicole nicely asked Matt if he could make her an egg McMuffin. Just like a school boy with a crush, he decided to play it cool and be mean to her. His reply was simply "No". Nicole of course was not happy with this response and marched off. Matt still fondly remembers the time at work when he asked Nicole to go find some "elbow grease", and being the good worker that she was, she went on a mission to find some. I think this was probably the moment Matt fell in love with her. Eventually he finally mustered up the confidence (although he was terrified) to ask Nicole out. They ended up seeing Mean Girls at the movie theatre and from that moment on Matt was hooked. Nicole even got Matt to wear pink at her senior prom (her favorite color). Skip ahead 2 years after meeting each other and the unthinkable happened. It was Nicole's first year of college, the time when you should be having the time of your life. But instead, Nicole became very ill within the first 3 months of college (November 2005). The doctor said she either had pneumonia or cancer. She was soon diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Our hearts were broken as we worried for her life. Treatment began immediately in attempt to save her, but being stage 4 the outlook wasn't great. At this point, most young guys would have run as fast as they could out of the relationship. Not Matt, he stayed by her side through thick and thin. Years of cancer treatments-chemo therapy, radiation, bone marrow biopsies, stem cell transplants, hundreds and hundreds of doctor visits and Matt never once left her side. From that moment on we accepted Matt into our family with open arms. It was clear how much he loved her and would always love Nicole. Skip ahead, past some very difficult times in Nicole's life to 2008. Matt proposed to Nicole (with a very beautiful sparkly pink ring) and of course she said yes! They were married in 2009 and things were finally looking up for Nicole. She was happier then she had ever been. Despite going through ongoing cancer treatment, she was able to graduate from college and get a great job, doing something she truly loved and enjoyed...helping others. Then in 2012 something amazing happened. Nicole and Matt found out they were pregnant and expecting a beautiful baby girl. This was truly a miracle, as Nicole was always told she would be unable to have children due to the cancer treatments she had undergone. On June 11, 2013, baby Olive Marie was born. She was 5.5 weeks early, weighing in at a small 5lbs 8oz, but amazingly healthy. We all immediately fell in love with her. She was our little miracle baby, a true act of god and someone we'd cherish for the rest of our lives. She was everything to Nicole, a true example of unconditional love and devotion. Nicole lived and breathed for her little angel or (little monkey). Nicole had an amzing 16 months on earth with Olive and spent every second of that time loving her. On October 10, 2014, Nicole unexpectedly and tragically passed away, leaving behind her baby girl, loving husband and so many family and friends that loved her unconditionally. Nicole left this earth far too soon, but her smile and sweet soul touched so many people in just 27 years. She was truly the strongest person I've ever known. Not once did she ever complain or feel bad for herself with all the terrible things she had gone through-in fact, the majority of people never even knew she was sick. She didn't want anyone taking pity on her, treating her differently or worrying about her. She always put everyone before herself, that's just the kind of person she was. Instead, she wanted to embrace life, live it to the fullest and never take a single moment for granted. I wish there were more people like her in this world. I know she's smiling down and watching over all of us now, especially baby Olive her (little monkey). If there is anything you can donate to this amazing family to get through this difficult time would be great! I know Nicole would be beyond appreciative. We love you so much Nicole <3
