Nicole's GHP Internship in Uganda

Hi everybody!
I was recently honored to be selected to serve on the Global Health Perspective’s internship through Denver College of Nursing (DCN)! I was hand-picked to participate in a service learning internship traveling to Uganda this June. This competitive internship partners with DCN and select students with a world renowned non-profit organization called Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children (FIMRC). Denver College of Nursing has partnered with FIMRC to aide in Project Bududa’s medical relief for the district population. Please check out their website here: https://www.fimrc.org/uganda/
The clinical care that I will be providing includes primary care for all ages, with a focus on child health, maternity and antenatal care, HIV, and malaria testing. The program also exposes me and other participants to the common health issues among the district population, including – malaria, HIV, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory infections, and malnutrition.
Most importantly, our goal is to empower the Ugandan health care providers. We will teach preventive healthcare practices in order to enable Ugandan families to thrive independently long after our departure. I am so grateful for this opportunity to contribute my acquired nursing skills on a global level and I would be deeply honored if you would partner with me to raise funds to help me get there and support the work of FIMRC!
All funds for flights, housing, and medical outreach supplies are due on June 10, 2018!
My goal is to raise $4400 in the next 10 days!
$1900 will cover flights to & from Uganda
$1500 will cover FIMRC fees (includes housing & Visa)
$ 300 will cover required vaccines
$ 200 will cover most meals while I am abroad
$ 500 will cover necessary supplies
