Hey there!
It has been a dream and aspiration of mine to volunteer abroad, immerse myself in a culture unlike my own, and work side by side with locals while learning what it looks like being a part of their community. I was lucky enough to be chosen to volunteer with Mindful Medicine Worldwide! They are a non-profit organization seeking to bring long-term sustainable and integrative healthcare to people of developing areas by establishing and operating integrative healthcare clinics. As a professional volunteer practitioner, I will be providing medical services while educating my patients to be integrative health workers within their communities. Mindful Medicine Worldwide is rooted in a practice of mindfulness, education, and sustainability- it is an honor to be able to work with such a wonderful organization :)
I will be stationed in Chanute, Nepal for two months. The town is located in a rural area, where most of the patients that come to our clinic are farmers that travel between 1 to 4 hours on foot to get some help with their ailments. Patients will mostly be coming in with musculoskeletal disorders, paresthesia, gastric pain, stroke, paralysis and respiratory disorders, in which I will be providing acupuncture, herbal medicine, dietary education, health and lifestyle advise, and linking them to other community resources.
Your funds will help spread the mission of Mindful Medicine Worldwide and will go towards supplies and translator fees. I ask for your support to help fund the supplies needed for my patients in Nepal. Together, let’s make a difference!
