Nicola Brain Tumor Radiation Treatment

I am making this request for contributions on behalf of my wife, Nicola Tate (“Nikki”), who is the mother of our two beautiful sons aged 5 and 12 respectively.
Background
Five years ago, one month after giving birth to our second son, Nikki was diagnosed with a brain tumor, the symptoms of which manifested themselves during her pregnancy. She immediately underwent emergency brain surgery and the tumor was removed.
Recurrence
Unfortunately, yet another tumor was discovered in Nikki’s brain last November (2018). On January 30th 2019, she underwent a second brain surgery but the entire tumor could not be removed. The stated reason for this was that a portion of the tumor was located in an area of her brain which made it too dangerous to attempt to remove it.
Recommended treatment
For the above-stated reason, Nikki’s neurosurgeon has recommended that she undergo Proton Radiation Therapy treatment in order to eradicate the remaining portion of the tumor and any other tumor cells.
Proton Radiation treatment is provided by a company called ProCure Proton Therapy Center in Somerset New Jersey. Nikki is required to undergo six weeks of daily radiation treatment (excluding Saturdays and Sundays) at their facility in New Jersey.
Cost
The total cost of the radiation treatment alone is TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000.00.) The transportation cost to and from the facility from our home on Long Island is estimated to be SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS ($6,000.00).
Medical Insurance
Today, March 25th 2019, we were informed that our medical insurance provider has denied Nikki coverage for this potentially life-saving procedure.
Urgency
According to her doctor, in order to increase the likelihood of success, Nikki must begin undergoing this treatment no later than Monday 1st April, 2019.
