What I'm raising money for:
Our dear friend Nick Sarantos recently had to undergo several emergency procedures including getting half of his colon removed and spending multiple trips to the ICU to battle a life threatening infection. While the top priority has been ensuring that he recovers as swiftly as possible, nevermind the cost, the reality is that as one of the many uninsured & underinsured Americans requiring urgent healthcare he will be met with a sizable bill for his surgery, his stays in the ICU, and every other expensive necessesity required of his return to wellness. The aim of this fundraiser is to help pool our financial resources as friends, family, and extended community so as to help soften his financial burden and allow him to focus on getting the resources & time he needs to recover properly.
How the money will be used:
Any money donated will go directly towards payment for treatment, medical bills, & income lost throughout the ordeal
Why this is important to me:
Anyone who knows Nick knows he has a heart of gold. He has always been there for the people he cares for, unflinchinly in our times of need. We all need a little help from time to time when misfortune strikes. If every person who has been touched by Nick's friendship, his kindness, his laughter, his stories, his insight, and his smile can find it in their hearts & their wallets to donate even modestly to this effort I'm sure we can help make a big difference for a friend that has made such an unsolicited difference in all our lives...
