Nicki's Kidney Fundraiser

Royal Colwood Golf Club server Nicki Shotton NEEDS OUR HELP.   As you may know, Nicki was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease that led to end stage renal failure in January 2017 after a short illness.  This is extremely rare for anyone in her early 30's. Nicki's condition means daily dialysis until her kidney transplant surgery in mid September.
Nicki's mother, Cathy Shotton will be her kidney donor and both will have the surgery in Vancouver.  Recovery involves a 3 month stay away from home in Vancouver once she is discharged and goes through the anti rejection therapy program that she will be on for the rest of her life.
Nicki's 6 year old daughter will need to commute regularly for visits with her Mom.  As a single working mom this is a significant financial challenge.  We hope to help raise money for expenses that are not covered by medical plans and help eliminate some unwanted stress in Nicki's life.
Shortly after her kidney transplant Nicki will also be facing a pancreatic transplant due to Juvenile Diabetes diagnosed at age 11.  In the future both of these organs will need to be replaced again (due to transplanted organs having a limited lifespan) resulting in her facing numerous transplants in her lifetime.
