Service Dog for Nick

Donation protected

As many of you know, Nick was in an ATV accident in May of this year. He broke his back in 2 places and had to have 5 vertebrae fused. The accident left him a paraplegic.

After weeks in the hospital, by the grace of God and the help of his amazing doctors and therapist Nick is able to get up and walk some with the aid of a walker but still primary uses his wheel chair. He is still mostly numb from the waist down with the exception of some feeling in his right leg. He has been unable to go back to work because of the excruciating pain he is still in. All of this has really taken a toll on him and he was beginning to get depressed. Being at home alone so much was not helping. After much prayer we began looking into puppies and service dog training. We found the perfect puppy. Her name is Rosy and she is the sweetest, most gentle goldendoodle puppy. We also found a service dog training facility that is literally 5 mins down the road from us which is a huge blessing because most of the time people have to travel hours away!! They talked to us about all the things they can teach Rosy to do to help Nick feel more independent. It sounds like exactly what he needs. What we didn't realize was how expensive service dog training would be.

Those of you who know us know that we are not the type of people that would ever ask for a handout but there is no way that we can afford this on our own. We feel like this is the direction God is leading us in and trust that if this is the best thing for Nick that He will make it happen. Thank you in advance for sharing and God bless.
