Bristol, Connecticut's Nick Vita Jr. Needs Your Help

Nick Vita Jr., native son whose father, Nick Sr. owned the popular restaurant "Vita's"  in Bristol for more than 20 years and who resurrected the family business in 2011, was diagnosed this week with a cancerous tumor on his kidney.  Today, 12/15/17, he had surgery to remove his entire kidney.

It couldn't come at a worse time for the Vita Family.
With catering jobs lined up at Pequabuck Golf Club in Terryville, where this father of 4, grandfather of 1 is the permittee of the clubhouse restaurant, Nick's first thought, in spite of his agonizing pain, was to postpone his surgery in order to take care of his family and not let down his customers. His doctors agreed, that was not an option.

Not only that, even though these catering events are a "family affair" with his wife Karen at his side doing everything from decorating for the event and setting up the tables to serving the delicious Italian classics, and his his youngest son Joey helping in the kitchen, it's Nick who is the chef and keeper of the recipes that have been passed down in the Vita family for 3 generations.

With Joey manning the ovens, and kids Nicholas and Tiffany and other family members lending a hand, they plan to honor those catering commitments but the next few weeks while Nick recovers are going to be critical. Without Nick, there is little money coming in and they are on the brink of financial disaster.

For those who may not know Nick, he has been an outstanding citizen of Bristol who in 2012 was the Central CT Chamber of Commerce Employer Recognition Award winner for his work with and hiring of Persons with Disabilities. He  was also a Baseball Allstar as a kid and a BRISTOL SPORTS HALL OF FAME member - American Legion 1984 State Champions, Northeast Regional Champs - Eighth in the World / World Series, New Orleans, LA!

Not to mention a heart so big if he can help you in any way, he will bend over backwards to do so.

Any donations will be used for basic living expenses for the family - Rent, Food, Utilities and Transportation.

Please help Nick and his family pull through this crisis.
