Nick Taplin - Land of the Giants

I will be 1 of 34 riders to take on a 4-day cycle throughout the Mashatu Game Reserve in the Northern Tuli block of Botswana.

Mashatu is the epitome of all that defines wilderness areas in Africa – the reserve lies in the remote eastern corner of Botswana and boosts an exceptionally diverse landscape including wide open plains, grassland, riverine forests, rocky hills marshland and majestic sandstone ridges.

This will be a gruelling 4 days embarking on the challenge of cycling in a diverse environment, whilst tackling the African heat and also the threat of dangerous safari animals.

Why would I do this you may ask? The motivation behind this is to raise funds and awareness of The Tuli Conservation Trust (TCT).

Having established in 1993 they do some amazing work for the protection of the Notugre wildlife and environment whilst enhancing the local community. The TCT UK has 3 main projects which supports anti-poaching, community outreach and education within the area.
