Nick Root
Donation protected
Nick Root is a newly minted CRNA (Nurse Anesthestist). He graduated from UT Health School of Nursing with his DNP in May of this year and very quickly passed his national board certification exam. Most people who have made it through the mental and emotional exhaustion of graduate anesthesia school understand the relief of graduation and the successful completion of the board exam. But for Nick, his greatest challenge was yet to come. Immediately after graduation, he electively underwent a major operation to donate 2/3 of his liver to his dying father. Though strong and fit physically, he will need time to recuperate. While his classmates are enjoying some well deserved time off, he is under the care of his family, gaining strength to eventually begin his new career in Austin, Texas.
Nick will have many medical expenses and ongoing daily needs, and as a graduated student with no income or ability to work, it may be difficult to pay. His family is already working hard to support him and his father, who was the recipient of his loving gift.
Please consider giving to a young man who has so selflessly given of himself to others.
