Nick Pace Cancer Battle

A member of our ETC family in west Texas has been diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer.
Nick Pace is one of two I & E Techs who works on the Oasis Pipe Line Company assets out of Ozona, Texas. He’s a strong, smart and funny 37-year-old family man who lives for his wife and kids. He has served our country in the military, including tours to Iraq.
Nick lives in Iraan, a small town of 1,200 about 40 miles from Ozona, which itself is a small town that sits on I-10 between El Paso and San Antonio. It’s difficult and expensive to get to quality medical care from Iraan, and in fact, Nick was heading to MD Anderson in Houston for an evaluation when he they had to stop at the ER at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. He ended up having all sorts of tests run there and was admitted to the hospital. For those of you who know Nick, he’s an energetic, strong guy who is committed to eating healthfully and working out. He’s lost at least 35 pounds already, and he probably didn’t have it to lose like the rest of us!
We have heard that Nick will need to start chemotherapy, and we don't know what that will mean for him and his family – like if he could take it at home or if he needed to stay in San Antonio.
No matter what the treatment is, Nick will need help meeting his maximum out-of-pocket insurance responsibility for this year, and 2018, since treatment will continue into Jan.-Feb. and beyond.
