<div>Nicholas Law suddenly passed away on December 31, 2024 in a tragic car accident in Centre Wellington. Nic was a wonderful, son, brother, grandson, nephew &amp; friend to all. Nic will always be loved dearly by his parents Jenn &amp; Bill, siblings Elizabeth (Ryan), Matthew (Autumn), &amp; girlfriend Ava MacNeil. He will always be loved &amp; missed by his Nan &amp; Papa Law, and Nono &amp; Nona Gemin, Aunts &amp; Uncles, Paul &amp; Lisa Law, Dave &amp; Kamila Gemin, &amp; Jeff &amp; Anita Gemin. He was especially close with his cousins Angelina, Adrianna, Ella, &amp; Cameron (Gemin). He will be missed by his large friend group as Nic was the type of person and friend who touched the lives of those around him.

<div>Nic’s parents describe him as loyal, hardworking, and an old soul. Bill said, “there were not enough hours in the day for Nic! He lived his life to the fullest and wanted to help everyone. If his friends called, he was on his way.” Jenn has said of her son, “he loved his friends, his family and everyone around him. He had a real passion for helping. His laughter filled our home; it will seem awfully quiet now.” Nic’s parents also mentioned how much Nic loved Ava. They said, “That they were truly soul mates and that together they had an unstoppable love”.

<div>Nic was the type of kid who made friends everywhere he went, whether it was Hockey, School, or work. Jake Fletcher mentioned that Nic was the friend who made an impact in his life through hockey, he took the time to help Jake with his skating, &amp; shooting skills, but would also play mini sticks with Matt &amp; him in their basement. Liam Riley said “Nic was one of my Original St. Joe’s buddies. He was the friend who kept everyone connected and made everyone feel like they belonged. He had a quiet confidence about him and was an incredibly talented hockey player. I loved when he would open the garage door at Ray’s with a big grin on his face!” Bill and Sean (Reily) have been friends for years &amp; as an act of friendship &amp; kindness, Sean told us they would lift each others windshield wipers up when the weather was bad &amp; they saw each others’ vehicles at the hockey arena. We learned that Liam &amp; Nic started doing this as well at Marks Work Warehouse when they got their licenses and extended to anywhere, they saw each others’ vehicles. This small story really resonated when writing this and tied back to Bill describing his son as an old soul. Nic loved his trips to Eastview, the Giant Tiger Parking Lot, &amp; hanging out at truck pulls with all his friends. Denver Myers mentioned some of his favorite memories were with Nic at bonfires, and that he always knew if Nic was coming or going because” he had that hemi pinned to the floor”. Denver continued in saying, “He was at your doorstep whenever you needed help or a truck! He lived his life to the fullest and will be missed by all his friends”. Jon Fletcher said, “My fondest memories of Nic always come back to hockey. My son had the privilege of playing on the same team as the Law boys. Our families became fast friends. I always remember watching Nic on the ice with his speed and agility. Off the ice he was kind, caring, selfless &amp; witty. Nic a few other teammates were always trying to set up my son with his 1st goal. I will never forget the day it all came together. Jake was positioned in front of the net and was fed the puck to score. Even though they were losing that game, you would have thought that team had just won the Stanley Cup. It was that type of leadership &amp; selflessness that set Nic apart from other kids. He was an amazing young man.” Jon’s wife Andrea was always so impressed by Nic, “He was the type of kid who was wise beyond his years, not afraid to have conversations with the adults around him. A few weeks ago, he and his parents had been by our house to pick up a washer &amp; dryer to use for his work clothes. With Andrea’s OCD, she brought him over to show him how to clean it and take care of it. Nic loved this as it was important to him that his mom and dad not have to do it, as they are busy and already work so hard. This young man wanting to help his parents and clean up after himself…. It just showed what a great person he had grown up to be.” It was mentioned by a few of Nic’s friends, that Nic always took the time to compliment Judith Meyer on her baking, he especially loved her cupcakes! Judith will miss baking for Nic. Judith also said, “Every time I saw Nic I would ask him where my sugar was, he would come right over with open arms and give me the best hug! My favorite memory overall though is Nic asking me if Denver could stay out later. As a joke, I told him yes….as long as I got a McDonalds cheeseburger as payment. Sure enough, when he dropped Denver off, he handed me a cheeseburger! There will be a void in all our lives &amp; hearts as we mourn with this huge loss with their family.”

<div>Nic was just starting his life and was setting goals like for the future. One goal Nic shared with those around him was his goal of becoming a Heavy Machine Operator. Nic was wise beyond his years and would take every opportunity to learn. As we were told by a friend and his high-school co-op mentor and one of his current employers Ray Patenaude, Nic had “this amazing ability to take in all the information given to him, process it, and use it where needed. Its like he had this amazing matrix inside his brain. He was smart, talented, and a hard worker”.

<div>We are all devastated by Nic's loss and we want his family to be able to provide Nic the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes.
