Niceville BLM

Tax deductible
Want to join us in making a difference?  We are raising money through a local nonprofit (Project I'Mpossible: projectimpossible.org) and all funds go directly to the putting up billboards and other diversity and inclusion projects locally. Thank you in advance for your contribution to these causes!

We have placed 3 billboards in Niceville and have 3 more going up in Fort Walton Beach over the next few weeks.

Niceville might be a small town, but that doesn't mean big change can't happen. Young adults have taken charge in the community through presence at local social justice protests, hanging signs to raise awareness, and taking to social media to fight systemic racism.

Most recently (October 6th) we were notified that a book was removed from a senior level english/reading class at Choctaw High School. We are working with the school board to get the book reinstated. The book is called White Fragility and it discusses why it is so hard for white people to talk about race. We feel like difficult conversations need to be taking place as a part of public education. Did you know that 1 in 4 students at Choctaw High School is a minority? If you want to get involved, please sign the petition below AND also take time to reach out to your local school board members to tell them why you think diversity and inclusion measures need to be part of the curriculum.

Here is the story of how the Niceville BLM movement was born. After obtaining permission to hang signs on NHS property, dozens of signs were proudly hung. Within hours, every sign was removed and destroyed.
