Niccie needs our help while fighting cancer!

Hello! Niccie needs our help while she fights cancer! Niccie is an amazing human;
loving, positive and optimistic, caring,
compassionate, sweet, and is always there
for others in need. She is a wife, mother,
grandmother, daughter, sister, and a dear
friend to many of us. 

Everything changed for Niccie in July 2019,
when she began her fight with an
aggressive cancer. In September, she had a major 5 & 1/2 hour surgery removing the
cancerous growth and 26 lymph nodes
from the left side of her neck. Followed by being heavily sedated to prevent
movements & stretching the fragile
surgery site. Additionally, she suffered
nerve damage to a facial nerve during
surgery and developed severe lymphatic
drainage issues. Unfortunately, the surgery was not curative and she began an
aggressive radiation treatment of 5 days
weekly in early December that continued
through the end of January.

Niccie still has a ways to go until recovered,
as well as further treatments, speech and
physical therapy, possible additional
surgery, and extensive healing from the
treatments she has already had.

Currently, Niccie is struggling to not be
admitted to the hospital as she deals with
the awful side effects of the radiation
treatments she has sustained. It has left
her unable to eat for the last 5 weeks and is only able to consume very small amounts
of fluid. She receives daily IV fluids for
hydration. The severe lymphatic drainage
issues are painful constantly day to day
(lymph edema).

Her husband Matt has been absolutely
amazing through this entire process. He
has been by Niccie’s side for every doctor
appointment, lab work and testing, ER visit,
stayed with her during surgery and post
surgical stay at OHSU for 7 days, was her
care giver once returning home from
surgery and nursed her back to health, he
took her to every radiation & treatment
appointment, as well as daily hydration
appointments. Not to mention caring for
her during medication & treatment side
effects.

Their daughter Nekeeta has also been a
tremendous help and support system as
Niccie has endured these terrible
treatments.

At this time, Niccie and her family need to be focused on recovering and healing vs
where money will come from to pay for
past treatments and medications, medical debt, further treatments, medications,
therapy, and monthly bills. They need the
support of others to help them through this unexpected time allowing the family a
much needed chance to heal and
concentrate on the importance of having
each other there and together.

The family greatly appreciates any help
and support that you may offer. They are
forever and deeply thankful for your

going towards paying medical debts
already occurred and future treatments.
