Nicaragua GIVE Volunteer Trip

Donation protected
Hello! My name is Sarah Weisflog. I am a first-year pre-med student at the University of Virginia from the country of Gabon in Central Africa.

I was recently accepted into the GIVE Volunteer Program and will be leaving to Nicaragua for 15 days during the summer. GIVE is an international volunteer program based on each volunteer's desire to invoke meaningful, positive change in the lives of others and in the world in general.

On this trip, I will mostly deal with the protection and conservation of marine life by cleaning, monitoring and maintaining the coral reefs around Little Corn Island. Indeed, coral reefs are home to more than 25% of all known marine fish species. With more than 27% of coral reefs already destroyed, we must take action now to protect and regenerate these critically important ecosystems.

In order to make this trip possible, I need to raise about $2000 which will pay for my flight there and back as well as pay for the program I am apart of. All of the money that I will raise will eventually be given back to the communities that I, and many other volunteers, will be working in. Every donation, even the smallest ones, count.

I would already like to thank you all for your love and support on this journey, and I know that it is with your help that I will be able to achieve my goal.

- Love, Sarah.
