Nicaragua Dental Missions Trip

Hello friends and family, my name is Samantha Del Rey, I am currently a sophomore at Florida State University. I am pursuing a bachelor degree in Exercise Physiology, with the ultimate aspiration to attend Dental school.
As a pre-dental student, I have joined an amazing community called Saving Smiles. With Saving Smiles I have been able to attend different service opportunities around my city, from health fairs to teaching children the importance of oral care at their schools. This coming Summer 2017, we will have the opportunity to fly to Nicaragua for a dental missions trip. On this trip we will be reaching the most underprivileged and poor cities in the town, bringing them free dental care. We will have the opportunity to do in-school check ups for children, and some house visits in the village as well. Some procedures might range from a regular cleaning or deep cleanings to cavity fillings even to extractions! The trip provides a great opportunity to people who have often never had or been exposed to oral care.
The trip will be from May 6-14, 2017. I will have to raise $2,500 in order to afford the cost of the trip. This money will pay for flight, housing, dental instruments, and occasionally provided meals. I must have the trip funded by March 20, 2017.
This trip has me jumping on my toes from excitement. God has always put the dream of being a dentist in my heart, and the more I experience it and participate in pre-dental events, the more I am confirmed of my passion for it. This trip will make an immense impact on the health of many lives in Nicaragua, children and adults. It will also broaden my dental knowledge and experience.

Hola familiares y amigos, mi nombre es Samantha Del Rey. Actualmente soy estudiante de segundo año en Florida State University. Estoy persiguiendo mi sueno de atender la escuela dental y convertirme en Dentista de familia algún día.
Como estudiante Pre-Dental, me e involucrado en un grupo de servicio comunitario llamado Saving Smiles. Con esta organización, e tenido la oportunidad para servir en ferias de salud en mi comunidad y hasta e enseñado a estudiantes de primaria como mantener una sonrisa saludable. Este verano 2017, tendre la oportunidad de viajar a Nicaragua para un viaje misionero dental. En este viaje estaremos asistiendo las ciudades mas pobres del país, llevande servicios dentales gratis a comunidades que no tienen acceso a ninguna ayuda dental. Muchos de los niños y adultos que veremos nunca han visto a un dentista en su vida. Tendremos la oportunidad de visitar a las escuelas y casas para ser chequeos orales. También tendremos una oficina abierta para nuestro uso donde podremos hacer procedimientos como limpiezas regulares y profundas, empastes y hasta extracciones.
El viaje durará desde Mayo 6-14, 2017. Tendre que recolectar $2,500 para poder pagar los gastos del viaje. El dinero será usado para el vuelo, un lugar donde quedarnos, instrumentos dentales, y algunas comidas incluidas. Necesitare tener los fondos del viaje disponibles para Marzo 20, 2017.
Esta oportunidad me tiene saltando de emoción. Dios siempre ha puesto en mi corazon el sueño de ser dentista y mientras mas me involucro en experiencias dentales, mas confirmo mi pasión por ser dentista. Este viaje tendra un gran impacto en la salud de muchas vidas en Nicaragua, niños y adultos. También ayudara a expandir mi experiencia y facilitará mi camino para entrar a la escuela dental, haciendo me una candidata mas competible.
