Simon Niblock for Darwin Lord Mayor

In a constantly changing environment, the challenges facing local governments are increasing rapidly. Our economy swings from boom to bust, population demographics are changing, and global warming continues unabated. Business as usual won’t cut it. 

The City of Darwin desperately needs strategic long term thinking. We need to start addressing climate change seriously by reducing energy consumption and increasing renewables.

With 5 years experience on Council and having completed the Australian Company Directors Course I'm  keenly aware of the importance of good governance.

I will lead an inclusive and constructive council and will work to make Darwin a truly sustainable city.

I'll be competing against former NT Government Minsters  (both ALP and CLP) with connections to those parties. I expect they will run very well funded campaigns.
