Nia Colton's Bone Marrow Transplant

Tax deductible
I call her Baby Nia. She is smart with a comedic sense of humor; very witty. She has a smile that lights up every room she enters. She loves to draw and has an all-around enthusiasm for all  thing dance!

She's  been in and out of the hospital since she was 6 weeks old! From a near death experience with influenza to several bouts of acute chest syndrome, splenic sequestration, pneumonia, and pain crisis.

Because of the frequency of her complications, the doctors thought she'd be a great candidate for a bone marrow transplant, and recommended she and her older brother undergo HLA testing to see if they were a match! Later test revealed that they were a 100% match.

They explored stem cell transplant and decided this would be the best course of action to rid her of this horrible disease.

We first met Nia and her mom Netta in 2013 when Nia was only 1 year old! Netta was one of the first people I brainstormed with about my idea for MTS Sickle Cell Foundation and she has always been a proud supporter and contributor to the organization. She's consistently donated to many families, friends and organizations since I’ve known her. Netta realizes continuing to work is unrealistic and Nia's father will be taking unpaid leave due to his blood pressure spiking; and because of this, MTS, in collaboration with many of Netta’s friends and supporters, are stepping in to help!

Thank you for taking the time to read this campagin, and even if a donation isn’t possible, please send prayers and positive thoughts to Nia and her family. Let’s do all we can as a community to help this family and Nia fight this battle with sickle cell disease.

Forever grateful for all of your support,
