Nhyira's spinal surgery

My name is Ama and I have set up this page to raise money for the spinal surgery of Nhyira. I first saw Nhyira and her grandfather, Mr Emmanuel Asante, on Facebook in an interview covered by GHOne TV and I have been really affected by their story.
She is a five year old deaf blind girl with cerebral palsy. Nyhira also has a very curved spine and need an urgent surgery to straighten it. The surgery will be performed at FOCOS Orthopaedic Hospital in Accra, Ghana and it is estimated to cost about £5000.00. This will enable Nyhira to gradually sit properly and hopefully be able to achieve other developmental milestones. Nhyira is being raised by her grandfather, Mr Asante who due to abject poverty is in no position to afford the surgery. In spite of the challenges associated with Nhyira's disability, Mr Asante is committed and dedicated to Nhyira and has invested all his resources in her upkeep. He has for the past two years not been able to afford paying for physiotherapy and her prescribed medication, Enceophabol Liquid, which is to primarily boost Nhyira's brain activity.
I am working closely with Hannah Awadzi of Special Mother's Project (Ghana) and Kofi Amigosten Amoah of On The Road With Amigos (Ghana) and have already provided Nhyira with some basic necessities and have linked her up with a Physiotherapist and an Industrial Engineer who would be making mobility aids for her post her Surgery.
The surgery is essential as it would give Nhyira a better chance in life and also reduce the burden on grandfather as he is currently having to manually lift her which places both Nyhira and grandfather at risk of injury. If successful, the surgery would enable her sit properly and potentially progress to stand with a frame and generally improve her wellbeing.
Hannah, Amigosten and I will ensure all funds reach FOCOS hospital for the surgery to be performed.
