NHS@PHS - Help Hospital First Responders COVID-19

COVID-19 is a human challenge unlike any other in our lifetime.
We need to come together as a community to help those on the front lines, especially given that many of these individuals are family members in the Preston community.
The Msgr. Thomas Preston Chapter of the National Honor Society wants to help. We are looking to raise as much money as possible to support those staff working tirelessly to fight the pandemic. All funds will be split between these two hospitals, where NHS member's have family currently working to fight this health crisis. Each hospital has a dedicated fund to support these front line workers.
Fund #1. NYC Health + Hospitals Staff Caring for COVID-19 Patients. Donations help provide these services and support to doctors, nurses, and other health care workers on the front line:
-Meals. There’s not time to take lunch and dinner breaks.
-Prepackaged groceries to take home. There’s no time to food shop in between long shifts.
-Hotel rooms. Our staff are taking care of COVID-19 patients and don’t want to go home and risk exposure to their families.
-Laundry service. There’s not time to clean work clothes and scrubs.
-Scrubs. We need more to ensure staff does not have to wear work clothes home from the hospital.
A family member of the Class of 2021 works in a COVID19 unit at North Central Bronx Hospital.
Fund #2. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital - Healthcare Workers Fund: Donations help to support the physical and emotional well being of healthcare workers who are on the front lines of the COVID-19 outbreak. A family member of the Class of 2022 works in a COVID19 unit at this hospital.
Even if you cannot donate financially, please donate your energies nightly in the 7pm #clapbecausewecare for Medical & Essential workers. This is a video showing what many in my apartment complex engage in every evening to show our support for the first responders working tirelessly to fight this pandemic. Together we can help!
