Hello everyone my name is Jeannette, i'm 55. I've started this GoFundMe page on behalf of my husband Larry he's 62 and myself.
A week before Christmas, Larry had an Accident that left his hip Shattered in 5 places. After weeks in the hospital, we came home to find the next few months a physical and emotional roller coaster.
Please allow me to tell you a little about ourselves and our story.
Larry and i moved back home to California a couple of years ago to start over. We tried for years to recover from the recession which hit our livelihood in the motorcycle industry hard. Because Larry is resourceful, he reinvented himself and returned after decades to the Custom Auto Body & Paint business.
Our first year here, we encountered many obstacles, and a little bad luck. We lost almost everything we own in a storage fire. But after a rocky start, his long nights at the shop, and working 7 days a week , he started to see the results of his hard work. We finally started making headway. The customer referrals started to come in and he started to get recognition for his work.
And then the Accident
Through 19 years of marriage, Larry has always been my Rock. Faced with many disappointments in the past, he's always found the strength to to keep going. Larry is the hardest working man i know. Larry has the drive and motivation, but its been a difficult recovery. He has had some setbacks, been in and out of the hospital, between trying to manage his pain and accept his physical limitations, its left him feeling so discouraged. This is the first time in our life together, that i have seen him struggle this hard emotionally. His love for me is what drives him and he knows were sinking and stand to lose everything we fought so hard for.
The Medical bills are starting to come in, and we were recently informed that our health insurance is denying part of our claim. Due to Larry's loss of income and juggling the cost of prescriptions, doctor and physical therapy CO PAYS and the high cost of living in California we find ourselves months behind on our house.
We know our story is not that different than everyday Americans dealing with their own life challenges. And it was only after the encouragement of friends, did i stop hesitating and turn to GoFundMe.
