Our youth employment programs help teens learn to manage their finances, soft skills, pride in their communities and responsibilities. At risk youth in underserved communities do better when they are involved in productive activities such as beautifying their own neighborhoods. They are less likely to participate in violence and crime.
Youth development activities include youth leadership and service-learning programs while focusing on building youth leadership and community service skills. The goal is to develop and equip today’s youth to be effective, involved, and positively impactful leaders in their communities. Some job duties include creating and maintaining community parks and beautification sites by planting flowers, trees and shrubs. Also they assemble picnic tables and benches and keeping areas clean and free of debris.
The purpose/mission of our organization is to work to the betterment and revitalization of neighborhoods on the East side of Youngstown and surrounding areas by uniting area homeowners and collaborating with other neighborhood organizations to help maintain and improve property standards and advance the interest of the citizens residing in those areas. We have been in operation for more than 50 years.
