Accident

I was hit by car while helping a co worker who was broken down on side of road.  He needed me so I made sure I was there for him like I would anyone else who needed help. After a  few days in the trauma unit when I was somewhat concious, an officer from the East Freetown police visited me.  He lived close to the accident scene and  he was there in minutes after the call came in.  He said I was thrown 45 feet and  he showed me  proof that the driver was on wrong side of the road.  I never had a chance.  They did not  think I would make it to the hospital alive.  The doctors had to do emergency surgery to remove my spleen due to internal bleeding which I now have many staples in my stomach. I have a broken leg that they did surgery on to put a rod in.  I have a broken back in two places with sutures everywhere.  There is a open wound in my left arm and all the skin on my right forarm was off that they sutured back together.  My head has many many stitches.  I just found out that my boss let the workman's comp insurance go last year and I cannot get into therapy without it.  The injuries I sustained, require therapy and everyday that goes by is a day where I may have more damage due to not having therapy with a professional.  I have a loving wife, children and a grand dauthter who need me. I have always been a hard worker and worked 7 days per week to keep my family whole.  I now can't even stand  or walk.  On top of that my employer hasn't even come to see me and is hiding from all our calls.  Like he fell off the face of the earth.  As I lay here my mind starts to think, an employer I thought was my friend ends up being anything but.  I really need some assistance to get therapy started, pay medical bills and to keep a roof over our heads.   I thought if I put my story out there, it may help.   God Bless all who reads this .  It's been 3 weeks and my wife had to quit her job an set up hospital bed in living room because I cant get in a rehab facility to learn how to walk with no insurance.  She is my angel and I couldn't be here without her.  She stood with me 12 hrs a day while in RI hospital for 3 weeks.  I require serious care and want to get better so I can try to resume a somewhat normal life again so I can continue to contribute to society.   Thank you to anyone who took time to listen and care.
